Marksville Elementary School Cafeteria, Marksville, Louisiana: A new 13,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose gymnasium and dining facility designed to provide food service for 700. The building includes a full service kitchen with walk-in freezer and industrial food preparation equipment, loading dock, office, lockers, and restrooms. Ballard CLC provided all professional services for programming, design, site improvements, and interior decorating. This work also included construction administration.
Horseshoe Drive Elementary School, Alexandria, Louisiana: Addition of a Library, and Computer Classrooms to an existing school. An innovative design allows for an Outdoor Classroom/Play Area. Extra wide roof overhangs combine with translucent roof glazing to provide day-lighting of interior and exterior spaces. 3,700 sq. ft.
Plaucheville Elementary School, Plaucheville, Louisiana: Addition of ten (10) classrooms to an existing school to replace fire-damaged space. The 8,000 square foot addition was designed to comply with ADA requirements. Ballard CLC provided all professional services.
Minden High School, Minden, LA, 2005 - Present: Project Manager – Ballard was the civil engineering consultant to a Shreveport architectural firm for the site design of this 25-acre site. Site work design consisted of concrete and asphalt paving; significant site renovations; subsurface drainage; and onsite utilities. These site improvements totaled nearly $1 million.
Webster Jr. High School, Minden, LA 2005 - Present: Project Manager – Ballard was the civil engineering consultant to a Shreveport architectural firm for the site design of this 22-acre site. Site work design consisted of asphalt access roads and parking; subsurface drainage and detention facilities and onsite utilities; and multiple connections to State Hwy. These site improvements totaled approximately $1 million.
Marksville Middle School, Fifth Ward, Louisiana: An accelerated program to add (6) classrooms to an existing school to replace fire-damaged space. The project included a principal’s office and was designed to comply with ADA requirements. Ballard CLC provided all professional services for this 6,000 sq. ft. addition.
STATE OF LOUISIANA, DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION - FACILITY PLANNING AND CONTROL: Statewide Roof Repair/Replacement of (4) four buildings at Louisiana Tech, Ruston, Louisiana.
¨ Mitchell Halls, Girls Dormitories - Two multi-story buildings with 29,050 square feet total roof area. Complete tear off of old materials with installation of new tapered insulation and modified bituman roofing system. Total Cost: $189,000.
¨ Neilson Hall, Boys Dormitory - Eleven story building with 10,750 square feet total roof. Complete tear off and installation of new modified bitumen roofing system. Total Cost: $85,000.
¨ Creamery Building - Agricultural Campus - Single story 5,100 square foot building, completely removed old roof system down to roof deck, and installed a tapered perlite insulation and new modified bitumen roofing system.
¨ Dining Hall - complete tear off of 6,800 square foot roof system and installation of tapered fiberglass insulation system and new 3-ply modified bitumen system. Relocated condensing units for freezers and coolers to grade.
SCHOOL BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS, TENSAS PARISH SCHOOL BOARD, TENSAS PARISH: Inspection and re-roofing of Tensas Parish school buildings. The project consists of the investigation of six (6) Tensas Parish schools to determine roof condition and the re-roofing of the Lisbon Elementary and Davidson High School buildings.
DIOCESE OF ALEXANDRIA—HOLY SAVIOR MENARD HIGH SCHOOL: Investigative reports were done for insurance carrier to determine cause and best repair for the gym roof which was removed by a tornado. Complete drawings, specs, and observation were performed on the project.
ST RITA’S CATHOLIC COMPOUND: The church was the first phase of a suburban multi-building campus The 17,000 square foot worship facility comfortably seats 520 parishioners and guests. The design included parking for 200 vehicles.
PINEVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH: The design of the new sanctuary for 412 persons seated. The design included parking for 200 vehicles.
LSU ALEXANDRIA, PHASE I—GRADY BRIT / EAST CAMPUS DRIVE: Investigation, surveys, campus-wide hydraulic modeling & analysis of existing drainage, final plans and specifications for removal and replacement of large diameter pipe crossing at intersection of Grady Brit and East Campus Drive, connection to existing parking area, new open channel outfall to campus east boundary and several field access drives.
MOUNT ZION C.M.E. TEMPLE-MINDEN, LA: Provided civil, structural and building design for a 200+ seat Sanctuary building , a 100+ capacity Multi-Purpose building which serves as a fellowship hall and educational space and a related site work and parking lots. Ballard provided the owner with permitting assistance for all governing agencies approval. The project is located in Minden, LA.
